Injector hat for a LS1 ..possible ?

Hy all,

i would like to install a injector hat on my LS1 (like enderle big/ugly) ....more or less just for show.

I read some little stuff on the web that a stock engine will not work proper with that huge butterflys of a injector hat.

My plan is to keep the original EFI Setup....and installing such a manifold like this ....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-LS2-CATH...FWCgkK&vxp=mtr

Futhermore i will weld in an adapter plate / opening on the top of the manifold.....to get the injector hat on top.

To get a better throttle response ..i would install kind of an reducer behind the butterflies ...i have no clue if that will work :-)

what do u think about that idea

Do u know any places to get some affordable injector hats.....?? maybe some used ones ?

Thanks
Achim

by what i understand, the injector "bird catchers" of old are doing the job of the modern day throttle body, they are simply "regulating" the intake of incoming air.

not sure how you'd incorporate both a throttle body AND a bird catcher.

forgot to mention....

the opening for the original throttle body will be closed...

So the air flows just through the injector hat....

Those manifolds don't have the best reviews; it may be better to use a four barrel type EFI manifold.

The "bug catcher" is just a throttle body. As long as the total throttle area is reasonable, I wouldn't expect it to be very troublesome. You could rig it so that not all the throttles on it open. Or you could simply put it on top of a four barrel throttle body that serves as the real throttle.
