Convert to '49 cab windlace retainer in a '47 cab?

Just wondering if anyone with a '47 - early '49 AD pickup had installed the cab door windlace retainers used on the '49 and later cabs? The '47 - early '49 retainers screw on and can be hard to find in good shape. Mine are sort of okay but not perfect and I was considering ordering/installing the later model type retainers that allowed the weatherstrip to slide in.

It would be simple, I think they sell it repro right? Just screw it in where the holes already are from the earlier moulding, easy peasy I would think.

would also have to do the rocker rubber and retainer, the 49 up channels are spot welded on, using screws makes it very difficult to slide the rubber down the channels. You could possibly use a truss head which has an almost flat head.

That would be the main issue with screws or pop rivets, having the rubber getting hung up on them. The head of a small diameter pop rivet may not stick up as much though.

It would be great if someone would remake the '47 - early '49 retainers to keep the originality but I do think the later style looks better plus reproductions are available. Since my truck will not be a pure restoration, I wouldn't mind making the change-over at this point and spot welding would be my first choice.
