Trying to salvage the OEM Harness
2003 Yukon.
I want try to use my OEM harness before spending 600 on a aftermarket. I'm pulling it now. Question is, I have it disconnected from the junction box in the cab just to the left of the column, disconnected from the column and the fusebox on the left side of the dash. And pulled the dbw and the obd plug. But a big chunk of it goes up in the dash towards the speedo cluster. Doi need to fish out all that too or just cut it?

Re: Trying to salvage the OEM Harness
If you're just after the engine harness then all you need is the part in the engine compartment, with the exception of the small jumper harness from the TAC module to the throttle pedal. Check LT1swap.com for pics and instructions on how to do it.

Re: Trying to salvage the OEM Harness
So I'm OK to cut the harness where it leads up to the cluster dash?

Re: Trying to salvage the OEM Harness
Can you just un plug the engine harness from the fuse box and jumper all of the necessary wires together and then power the Orange wire. Also the TAC and pedal
Starter motor will need to be powered also to turn the engine ober

Re: Trying to salvage the OEM Harness
Ive done a couple of harnesses, one just burying the un used wires in the harness and another opening up the harness , removing all the un used wires etc.
the next one I do will be just burying the un used wires back in the harness, no need to spend 3 or 4 days redoing the harness, just build a fusebox and connect to the power wires on the harness |
