Anyone else have fuel vapours coming.from filler neck ?
I completed my ls swap using a in tank fuel module from a 2003 truck. The system has a feed and return line. I am finding that there is now a excessive amount of fuel vapour coming from the vented gas gap. I have a 1/4" line from the intake thats capped down at the transmission and a 1/4" line from the fuel module. Has anyone run thoes lines into a charcoal can and used the factory valve in the intake to vent the system ?

The PCM wont Open the purge solenoid unless certain criteria are met, and in a swap you most likely dont have everything hooked up for that to happen. I just hook the vent line from the tank to the charcoal cannister and leave the other fittings on it open. I dont get any fuel smell that way.

The S10/Jimmy charcoal "box" is cheap and at every junkyard if you really need it.

Re: Anyone else have fuel vapours coming.from filler neck ?
So I am thinking about adding the charcoal can....The smell of fuel vapors at stop lights in town is actually concerning me if someone threw the butt near my Suburban. I don't know what would happen.
Does anyone know if the newer say 71 72 trucks came with a Non-vented cap for the tank ?

Nothing would happen, you'd never achieve a functional a/f ratio. People smoke at gas stations all the time (not a good idea, but totally happens). They'd have to toss their butt on the trim of your filler neck, and even then, probably nothing.
