Still looking for tire size on lowered 63
I asked a question earlier about what size wheels would be good for lowered truck without rubbing. ( what I really need to know is the tire size for transmission builder)
Sooooooooooo..........thanks for your patience looking to put wider tires and bigger rims (I'm thinking 17 inch rims, but could be talked into 18s) thanks again |

Re: Still looking for tire size on lowered 63
I bought 17s for the front and found out there is not much of a selection in that size. There is a lot more sizes in a 18 wheel. I used 245/50-17 on a 8" wheel the front. I have 255/45-18 on a 9.5 wheel on the back. I would have been better off appearance wise with a 275/50-18 on the back. The 255/45-18 is to small.

https://tiresize.com/calculator
A 28.5" to 28.9(stock) height. A no hassle 275 wide. Rim size of 18 making shopping for tires easy. But found a 275/55/17 but as for transmission don't see the tire selection an issue. 3.73 rear with 28-29" tire is the sweet spot. A 255/50/18 at 28.04" tall or A 255/55/18 at 29.04" tall for all 4 corners. And 10" wide

I would like to see how the different size wheels and tires that fit would look. (seems like I'm hearing 18 inch rim for sure.....correct?) |

Re: Still looking for tire size on lowered 63
275/60/15 vs 295/45/18 if a fatter side wall stick with the 255s lots of tire calculators out there and other years wear same size tires.

Re: Still looking for tire size on lowered 63
255 gives a good size all around. Can be ran front and rear so you can rotate. Also gives a fatter side wall look while maintaining a good height overall for rpms. But a 27-29 inch tire is what you want. That picture is what was and what is on my rear. I had hard time going from 15 short of 13.5" brakes had me looking big. The 17s were hard to find in a truck size not a car size 25-27"tire. 18s were same price and better size choice. LT ratings as well but my Nitto 555s are rated for over 2k per tire, for a 5k gvw truck.

Re: Still looking for tire size on lowered 63
It's all in the popular size. A 255/50/18 Nitto 420s is $175
Found Fusion at $110 and a low $145 for Nitto. From Google shopping. If a ZR P Zero yes 400+

If so, can you tell me what your wheel backspacing or offsett is? (that would help me out) |

Re: Still looking for tire size on lowered 63
Yes I am running a 295/45/18 Nitto 555 rear. But I am also rubbing a bit being so low. The American Racing Salt Flats are 9.5" wide with a 4.5" back space. Front is 245/45/18 on 8" not sure might be 8.5" on 4.5" back space. That's why I say stick with the 255s but if the fat of the tire is not into the bubble of the inner fenders the 295 will work. Had 275/60/15 as seen in picture no issues and a small 235/60/15 front and 225/70/15 same height as 245/45/18 for a month while 18s were being shipped.

Re: Still looking for tire size on lowered 63
The inner tubs have an indentation that causes rubbing. The outside is fine. My rear is also is a 70 so is wider than stock.
