Where to get fuel sending float for my '66?

I replaced the fuel sending unit/pickup tube in my 66 a year or two ago, and just now got the rest of the truck back together and almost roadworthy. Realized my gas gauge wasn't working so I pulled the (basically) new sending unit to find the float is missing off the end of the float arm rod. I presume it's floating around in there, but I have no desire to try to pull the tank again or try to rescue it.

I'm having trouble finding a replacement float online. Does anybody know where to get just the float, or have a part number and/or dimensions? I found a few on ebay listed for Fords, which appear to have similar dimensions to the hook on my float arm, but I don't wanna get one that doesn't fit right or won't fit back in the tank when I reinstall the sending unit.

Re: Where to get fuel sending float for my '66?

Found this pic after some more searching, and if it's correct, 47-72 uses the same basic float. Searching the part number shown in the pic brings up en tries on several parts sites (classic industries, chevy metal, etc.). Only downside is the float itself costs about half the price of an entire new sender assembly.

So it looks like I've got my answer. Maybe this info will help somebody else later.

Re: Where to get fuel sending float for my '66?

Yeah thanks Apache, I noticed they had em as well as Classic Parts, which are both local to me. It was looking like I'd have to get one shipped to me as I was searching in my frustrated haste earlier. Didn't wanna have to wait or pay more for shipping than the float cost. Now it looks like I can pick one up on my lunch break though. May spring for a new front bumper and wiper arms while I'm there... excuses, excuses.
