wrangler tank install ?????s
Getting ready to install the wrangler tank. with a 87 blazer sender and modern pump all as recommended on here. thanks guys!!
How are you guys installing it? The bed is off my 67 stepside shortbed. I cut a piece angle iron to makeshift a cross brace. Should in drop in since the bed is off or install from underneith. And is it ok to run nuts and bolts thru the pinch plater that runs along the middle of the tank or fab straps? Pics would be great!!!!

Look on my Yeller build thread. Made an angle frame and bolted through the pinch, with rubber pads for isolation. Be sure to bolt through on the outside of the friction weld line! Worked out well, and easy to pull the tank.

Re: wrangler tank install ?????s
I wouldn't risk drilling thru that pinch plate ..to much risk in creating a leak...I would use the straps..you could grab some off a wrangler at a wrecking yard...I would set it up like it mounts in the wrangler..

Re: wrangler tank install ?????s
did you mount from underneath or drop the tank in with the bed off?

Re: wrangler tank install ?????s
its kind of a frame, the entire front rides on a piece of angle that's been relieved so that the pinch goes all the way in. it drops down about an inch. then you swing the back up and another angle bracket holds up the rear. Winds up with the tank roughly level with the top of the frame rails. Look in both threads in my sig, there's probably a good pic somewhere. Yeller is actually my dad's so it's up at his house. I've had the tank in and out 3-4 times since the truck's been built, easy peasy. I really just floated it where I wanted it on floorjack and lumber, then connected the dots with angle.
