Re: upgrade a 67 c30
Do you want it single wheel or a dually ?I would go gm dana 60 front 73-87 and 88-91 for the crew cab.The rear end a 14 bolt full float or a dana 70 if you can find it single wheel. Now the front dana 60 is starting to come up in price and some have used a dodge dana 60 from a leaf spring truck. You will need these bushings to run the dodge axle http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/Dod...apBushings.htm you will need a 4x4 trans that depends if you want auto or stick and if you want a overdrive or not.To me i would use a turbo 400/np205 out of a 1 ton 73-87

Re: upgrade a 67 c30
You will need the 4x4 parts for your frame like the engine crossmember,Steering box and the spring hangers. The 73-87 front axle will bolt in,But the rear axle youll have to cut off the spring perches and weld them back on to the right width. If you haven't seen this yet http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...play.php?f=141 thumb around the builds,Some guys have done the 4x4 swaps youll see what your getting yourself in to.

Re: upgrade a 67 c30
Best deal these days is the military take offs, Dana 60 and 14 bolt with detroit locker.
http://www.boyceequipment.com/ The best part is the rear axle has spring perches at 40 inches which will also bolt right in to the common 69-72 spring location. Not sure if the 67-68 1 tons share the funky rear springs as the smaller trucks, not sure if the spring widths different too? Since you are converting the front you may as well go with the late 52inch spring upgrade for a better ride. http://diy4x.com/product.php?productid=17716 |

Re: upgrade a 67 c30
If you get a chance, what is the spring width center to center on a 67 c30 dually? I have no idea if the pickups were different from the cab and chassis back in 67.

Re: upgrade a 67 c30
The 73-91 one ton rears (14 bolt & dana70) will bolt under the 67-72 C/30 frames without changing the perches

Re: upgrade a 67 c30
I'm not home but I'll measure my 68 and let you know . I converted it to a 4x4 and I used a Dana 60 front and dana70 dually rear from a 90 crewcab and it was a direct bolt in
