Aluminum brake calipers
Will these gain us any clearance over the single piston OEM?
I'm thinking so, but wondering if anyone has actual experience. I bet they look pretty too. https://www.brotherstrucks.com/71-87...tinfo/DPC7187/

Re: Aluminum brake calipers
Most run the wilwood d52 dual piston which is close to that.Or they go full big brake kits.

Re: Aluminum brake calipers
I would look for some reviews on them. I'm a little worried about the 2-piece design. If you're only going for looks, they may be ok. If you're after performance, go with a trusted name like Wilwood or Baer. Also, don't underestimate the stock calipers. The only caliper on the market to match the clamping force of a stock D52 truck caliper are the 6 piston Wilwood and Baer units.

Re: Aluminum brake calipers
What does a D52 caliper come off of?

Re: Aluminum brake calipers
Pretty much every GM car and truck from 68-mid 90s. The 71-87 1/2 ton trucks have D52 calipers with a 2 15/16" piston. The 3/4 and 1 ton trucks had a larger 3 1/8"(or somewhere close to that) piston.
Wilwood offers a dual piston caliper that has the same dimensions as a standard D52.
