Fleetside in-bed spare tire bracket question
I have a in-bed spare tire bracket that looks original except for the jay hook, whick looks like it was welded together with peices of threaded rod. See pics. Does anyone have a picture of an original jay hook assembly?
Thanks |

Re: Fleetside in-bed spare tire bracket question
It's not a J hook that holds the spare rather a Carriage Bolt.

Re: Fleetside in-bed spare tire bracket question
Not sure what was originally used, but I got a large carriage bolt with a big wing nut and it works well.

Does anyone have a pic of this type of bracket installed? Preferably an original bracket.
Thanks Ken |

Re: Fleetside in-bed spare tire bracket question
Here are two quick pics for ya.
The drawing of the mounts (see through) and you can see the location of the mount on my bed we mounted. My two friends John and Pearson helped me mount the bed by use of a engine hoist.

Re: Fleetside in-bed spare tire bracket question
Looking at your rear bumper in the pic, it seems quite a ways back from the bed. are you using stock style brackets? Do you have any pics of when you assembled the rear bumper & brackets?

Re: Fleetside in-bed spare tire bracket question
we had not bolted it in place yet, I still need to add the splashes to the bumper brackets to keep the debris from flying (splash pic not my truck)
