Need help with Block ID

Can some one identify the block that I have in my truck. The truck is a 1953 3600 but I think the block is not original to the truck. The color of the block is a orange/red. The number stamped just behind the dist is:
00097832 F55X
There is also a number behind the starter:
J224
I have looked on the common websites and can not id the block. I would like to know the following plus any other info that you might be able to provide from the ID#.
Is this a 235 and if so is there any specifics about this engine?
What year was it built and where?
What color should a 1953 block be?

Re: Need help with Block ID

It looks like a Flint manufactured '55 model year X code 235 from a 3100 series truck. According to this page a '53 235 truck engine should be blue-gray

Re: Need help with Block ID

Most every specification for a 51 truck can be found here https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

The Thriftmaster designation went away in mid 49 when they went to the numbers on the hood side. 47/early 49 would be Thriftmaster while late 49---- would be 3100, 3600, 3800 or ----

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
