86 c10 factory black paint code ??????

I have searched several places online and I would rather have input from a guy that has a code off his truck.

Can anyone tell me what their truck says for their black c10 Silverado?

I have a 86 c10 which is gray and ive got it primered up and now I just need the black code so I can drive it down to the paint shop today.

Do u really need the factory black code? Why not jus go with a newer silverado black thats what i did on mine

I did think about that but I think the 80's black looks a little deeper black. I prefer the deep black. Its probably close though. I would rather just go with stock 86 and 87 because I'm in love with factory black c10s.

The hot rodders in my area like a ford black. They say it is the blackest black there is. Cadillac used Tuxedo Black for many years. I agree that most new blacks have metal flake and pearl in it so it isn't as deep as the old days.

my mother in law has a 2004 thunderbird that's super deep black and I almost copied her paint code but I think I'm sticking with the gm code.

The paint code is "19".

The U means primary color (L is secondary color if there is a two tone paint scheme).

The leading "1" is a dummy character/placeholder and can be disregarded.

Cool. I showed them Kaysen's pic after they insisted 19 wasn't a code. Then they dug alittle deeper and said "Oh, there it is....." Thanks again Kaysen!

looking up colors for 1986 Chevy

Midnight Black #19 on the color chart for mixing GM Code= WA0848 or U0848 then there is Ditzler PPG = 9300 and Dupont = 99 all those come to the same color Black

like you if I went in the paint store and gave them the number 19 and called it black they would look at me like I was crazy, but give them other codes listed up top they could look it up,

thanks. I actually asked them to look up u119 and no luck. then asked them to look up 19 and they found a old paint code book with chevy colors and there it was. ppg 9300 was also suggested by friend. He called it triple black, I think.

me too! They said it may be done tomorrow. Its getting its windshield today, so I guess the paint is done
