Replaced Window Regulator, still sticking!!
I recently replaced my window regulator (Drivers side) with a new unit from LMC. I also replaced the rubber door glass run and the felt insert on the vent window, all with parts from LMC. However, when I put it all back together my window goes up ok untill about 3/4 of the way up, and then it gets very difficult to crank. I can force it through this tough spot, and then it will finish going the rest of the way up. Same thing to roll it down, it starts out ok, but when it gets about 1/4 of the way down it is very difficult to crank. However once I get over this spot I can finish rolling it down normally. I dont understand why this is happening as its all new parts inside the door, and I did grease up the channels that the regulators wheels run in. Very frustrating as I spent all the time and effort to rebuild my door, just to have it work no better than it did before! Any ideas why this is happening??

Did you take the bottom track off the glass? It sounds like it might be off center, which can cause the rollers to hit the end of the track as it goes up and down.

Check that the rear channel in the door, that the weatherstrip is fully seated, especially where it transitions from the channel to the door. Test the regulator by loosening up the bolts on that channel and see if it rolls up without binding.

Re: Replaced Window Regulator, still sticking!!
I took a look at my door today, and all the rollers appear to be functioning as they should. I removed the screws of the rear channel, and when I did that, the window went up and down perfectly!! It works well with the channel just slightly lower than its original position, so I think Ill modify the channel to fit where it wants to go and give my window the room it needs to move freely. Thanks for the ideas guys!

Re: Replaced Window Regulator, still sticking!!
I knew that was the problem, did you check to see if the rear channel rubber was fully seated where it transitions to the door? Lots of times its not and this happens. Put your hand up in there, its difficult and push it in or, push the rubber in while the channel is a little lower and slide the metal up over the rubber while pushing it up into proper position for the bolts.

Re: Replaced Window Regulator, still sticking!!
I did some slight adjustment to the rear channel in the door and made sure the rubber was completely seated properly, and now everything seams to be working just fine. Thanks guys!

Re: Replaced Window Regulator, still sticking!!
Would the rear channel being out of adjustment cause the glass to dig into the division bar felt? I gabevthis dame problem with both of mine. I have not had the rear channel out of the driver's side but I replaced the glass and the bottom channel, it was purchased assembled (tinted glass). The passenger's side glass was also purchased with the bottom channel assembled but I did have the rear channel out if it. I also have new channel runs and division bar felts installed. I converted the regulators to power as well.

Re: Replaced Window Regulator, still sticking!!
The glass digs into the division bar because the rear run channel lining is not seated at the transition, the symptom is hard to roll up near the top where the guide on the glass itself comes to the area of run channel lining that is not seated. You have to feed the run channel down carefully and then check by hand it's all the way seated, a flashlight looking down can sometimes reveal the problem

Re: Replaced Window Regulator, still sticking!!
I'm in the process of removing the triangular side window so I can put new weather stripping around it. I'm having a hard time getting that window out while the larger window is still in place. Do I have to take it out first?
