What bags do you run and why? what do you recomend?

My 68 is dropped 5/7 & I use firestone 2600# on the rear. Use them for their adjustability so I could have it as low as I wanted & still be able to pull my trailer. They've worked w/o any probs for 3+ years now. I got everything through AirRide.

The slam bags are good....they7 are more of a bag for hopping though so if your on a budget there is no reason to buy them when firestones will be perfectly fine for a driver. Most of the time a sleeve bag will be betetr out back for the ride. Double convoluted bags (like firestone 26c's) are very common for the front.
f9000 sleeve bag....used on many ART 4 link systems... F6957 double convoluted...good front bag. I'd think you could use the 2600 out back too sicne it sounds like a few of these guys are running them but the ride is usually a bit more bouncy with that bag versus a sleeve bag. The slam bags are usually 2x the price as firestones because they are stronger since it's a hopping bag. Cameron

Great, thanks for all the replies. This is for a suburban so i think it should be ok with the firestone 2600 bags at all 4 corners.
Any opinions on this setup? What size inlet should i go with 3/8 , 1/2 or? single or double inlet?

Inlet/airline sizing really depends on your intentions. Since your looking @ something for a burb, the smaller airline/port sizes will work fine. The bigger dia line will give you a faster rise/lower time, but the smaller stuff gets the job done (think convection oven vs. a microwave.... both are faster than a standard oven, but some people want it to be faster).
AirRide recommends the smaller 2400# dbl convoluted bags for the rear of 67-72's but I chose to use the 2600# dbl convoluted bags because I knew I would be pulling an 18ft car hauler. When not towing the trailer I keep them @ 30psi & the ride is not 'bouncy'. Since your burb is bigger/heavier, the 2600# bags out back will work fine. I consider my ride quality to be comparable to a standard height swb truck (w/o the extra ground clearance ). One more thing, I would also recommend using lowering blocks if your looking for alot of drop (so you can get it low & still maintain a decent air psi @ ride height).

Slam bags are not that much more! For the RS series they are 89. each. For the way they ride it is worth it. They take less pressure to lift, they don't balloon out. They go up instead of out. They get about an inch more lift at the bag, so when you put it on your front end you get more then an inch lift. On my suburban I am running slams up front and easystreet extreme 2B7 in the rear.

The suburban is all stock now. I am building a crossmember for it right now and will be dissassembling my suburban in a few weeks. As for getting slams for 89ea. You can get them from me for that price. I highly recommend them!

I've got the 2600's in my '71 burb all the way around with art big red valves and running 3/8 line. I'm very impressed with ride quality and handling. I don't know why you would use a lowering block on these if you have bags you get pretty low with just the bags.

welll....that looks like something shAIM sells. There is no logical reason IMO that you need a bag like that. No real reason you even need that kinda lift. That bag could really only be used for hopping or something....I def would not run that on a driver. I'd stick to normal firestones or slam bags. Most suspensions won't really take that kinda lift anyhow IMO....not without throwing some stuff off...especially out back....your suspension will max before that bag fully expands.

Sbrban, even w/the 2600# bags bolted directly to my frame & top of the trailing arm, I needed 1.5" blocks to get mine sitting where I wanted. At ride height (& w/the blocks) I only use 30psi of air & you wouldn't want to use any less air psi as they recommend a 3" minimum bag height.

I want to do bags eventually. What rides the best? My interest in air ride is to improve the ride so that i can stand to drive it

I wouldnt of put somthing like that up front, I was just thinking more clearance for towing if I decided to in the future. I think it sounds like the firestone 2600 at all 4 corners is the way to go. This should be a little bouncy?, but I think a good compramise if I want to tow somtime down the road.
(you never know when you will need to tow somthing, and wish you would have made it so you can.) Can I see some stance pics, and a quick suspension rundown and tire wheel size? Example: pic, firstone 2600 all around , dropped spindles and 235-60-15 on 15x8's Thanks,Lance
