Look what I got back today.

Now the work can start again. I'm not sure if it will see the road this year or not. Lots to do now.

Re: Look what I got back today.

Thanks Vin63 I was hoping you'd see this post. I'm very happy with it. It is hard to tell but there is some green in there. It really goes from black to blue to green depending on the light that is catching it. It is as close a match as we could get to the original paint. Being a made in canada truck I didn't have any luck trying to match up the actual paint code.

Re: Look what I got back today.

Thanks Captainfab. I appreciate the time you and others take on here answering questions and sharing your knowledge of these trucks. It has helped me so much as I've worked on getting it to this stage. Thanks a ton!

Re: Look what I got back today.

When you can, post some close up photos of the paint in the sunlight at different angles...that would be cool to see. The paint will really pop once you get some of the trim and chrome mounted for contrast.

Re: Look what I got back today.

Hey Vin63, that is kinda what I was trying to do with the two pictures I posted. Phone camera pic's? What do you do? If you look from the front you can kinda see the blue. From the back you can see more green. Picture's didn't turn out like I had hoped they would compared to what you could see with the naked eye. I can't wait till I can start sticking stuff on it. The body shop that painted it was wanting me to leave it for a few days so the paint could cure a little longer. It's killing me! I promised myself I wouldn't screw with it till next week! lol!

Re: Look what I got back today.

Is that black or a dark green. Looks great but hard to see details on my phone. I like the two tone.

Re: Look what I got back today.

Hey siggyfreud, if I'd pick a colour I'd have to say dark green. Really dark! But it changes with the light. When I snapped the two pic's outside it looked very Blue from the front. Green from the Back. It doesn't show that well in the pic's. I've always been a big fan of the two tone paint of the chevy trucks. It took me a bit to come around to going back to the original paint. Sure am happy with the results. I went back and forth on what colour I wanted to go with. It was always going to be two tone though.

Thanks for the comments guys. You'd have a hard time knocking the smile of my face.

Re: Look what I got back today.

It would be neat to see close ups of the panels like the hood surface, door, bedside at angle, etc. This was a quick pic I took of my wheel tubs. It was interesting to see how the midday sunlight reflected and appeared blue on the tops.

Re: Look what I got back today.

I really LIke the colour of your truck! Vin63. I was really considering going that way. I will see what I can do about getting some better pictures. Biggest problem is my garage faces north so this time of year I don't even really get sun on the driveway. I will get you some pictures. I will be starting on the drive train next week. When are you going to have your truck on the road?
