Short bed crew cab

Hey guys - I'm playing around with the idea of building a crew cab short bed square body as a daily driver. Can anyone that has completed one of these builds tell me what the total truck length is? I'm guessing around 19' - does that sound right?

Re: Short bed crew cab

Yes, 19' is right on.

From page 12 of the 1987 GM truck vehicle information kit you can get the from the GM Heritage Center (link below):

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

The longbed regular cab had an overall length of 212.2"
The shortbed regular cab had an overall length of 193.5"

That is a difference of 18.7".

The longbed crewcab had an overall length of 246.4".

Subtracting our 18.7" difference between the bed lengths we get 227.7" or 18.975 feet.

These lengths are from the front of the front bumper to the back of the bed. Remember, rear bumpers were options on our trucks...

Awesome thanks for the info. It's hard to believe that a crew cab short bed square body is the same length as a 2013 crew cab 1/2 ton (5.75' bed) - they are 230". The square crews look forever long!
