3/4 Ton Rear Shock Mod/Accessory Identification
Working my way front to back on my truck doing routine maintenance, I figured I would change out the front and rear shocks. Getting to the rear, I was a little surprised when I took a closer look at the "coil-overs". At first, I though it was some cobbled-up mess using exhaust clamps but when I took everything apart, the setup looked to be some sort of coil retrofit kit.
50% of me says leave them off, but 50% is starting to like the way they look. Any idea what these things are? I have been unable to find anything online. If they were a legit accessory, I might re-use them. What say you, 60-66 brethren?

Re: 3/4 Ton Rear Shock Mod/Accessory Identification
I would just install a good heavy duty set of shocks such as Monroe Gas Magnums. That is if you can get them for a 4x4. Finding the rear shocks may be a bit of an issue. I would suggest checking some of the 4x4 build threads here on the forum and see what they have found. I see that you have a broken leaf in the spring pack on the passenger side.

I have seen these before. Back in the '70's, the "helper spring" craze was in full force. Needed more capacity, add helper springs. Wanted to lift the rear end up, add helper springs (or air shocks).
