Lowering part number help

I want to do a 4ish front and 6ish rear drop. What kits work the best and where can I get it. My truck is a rear cool spring step side if that matters.

Look up panhead 69 posting above. The posting I responded to should work out great for you. If your truck dosent have a front sway bar it should be the first addon. Best bang for the buck Any junk yard 3/4 or 1 ton truck willwork.

I have a change of plan for now. I am looking for some info on a air ride set up. I am sure their are quality difference. Any direction would be appreciated

For either the static drop or air ride get with Travis at Pro performance. He is a vendor here on the board and can put together something to fit your needs better than the generic off the shelf kits.

What are your overall plans for the truck? Are you looking to autocross it at any point or are you just looking to lay it out when you park? We have two different systems that would work well for either one. Feel free to message me directly if you have any questions. We have a couple of different vendors that you could purchase from. Id be more than happy to help you out with any technical questions to get you pointed in the right direction.

Autocross not that I know of but you never know.i mostly want a good driver. It will have about a 400 to 450hp motor with a 6 speed trans. 4 wheel disc brakes.

Its sounds like its going to be a nice truck! Our CoolRide system is probably the most cost effective method to put your truck on air but you wont see the improved steering geometry and handling benefits that you would if you were to move up to our Level 2 Air kit. There are some major differences between the 2 kits depending on what you are looking for long term and the investment range you are working with.
What year is your truck? I can include some links in another post that will take you directly to those kits on our webpage.

The first link will take you to our Level 2 kit. As you will see, its a complete bolt in suspension with new upper and lower arms, spindles, rear trailing arm system, shockwaves etc.

Yea not really looking to spend 7k to lower it but maybe the other kit. What's the advantage or dis advantage of bags compared to static drop?

The biggest difference between a static drop and air is the ability to lay your truck out when its parked. Both provide a drastic improvement in ride quality over factory components and both will get you the lowered ride height you are looking for. While the air system is fully adjustable in regards to height, the static drop on coil overs or our StreetGrip alternative will be slightly easier tostall with fewer components and a reduced cost.
If you are looking for great ride and component quality at a price point that is a little more wallet friendly, you should check out the StreetGrip system (I will include a link below).I've personally put a ton of miles on the blue and white 72 shown in the link and that truck has a ride quality that surpasses even the new GM trucks. The components are durable and easy to install. The truck you see in the picture has already been to Texas and back to Indiana twice this year!

I see the kit you posted is the same price as the bag kit you posted. Which one would be better? I know one is static and the other is a bag kit.

I prefer the StreetGrip kit due to ease of installation and ride quality. I can bolt that entire system in over the course of a weekend, set the rebound adjustment of my shocks, get it aligned and hit the road. Like I mentioned above, I've spent a few hours behind the wheel of that white and blue C10 and was really impressed by the way it handled and road going down the highway. I appreciate the air kits and I think love the fact that I can slam it down when I park..but if I was building a C10 to drive and enjoy, Id go with the StreetGrip kit every time.
Its all about your long term goals for the truck. If you want to build a nice riding, maintenance free driver..go with the StreetGrip. If you want to lay it out when you park and have the ability to control your height with the push of a button, go with the air.

How low is the suregrip set up? I have been doing some reading today and air just seems to be not as nice as a static set up so I will go back to the idea of a static set up. All I need now is the info on how low it will be and what dice wheels and tires and with what offset I need. Look forward to hearing back.

It equates to about a 4/6 drop. We currently have a 255/40R18 on the front and a 275/40R18 on the rear of the blue truck. They fit great with no rubbing and do not require a custom offset. I have also seen another 72 C10 with 20in wheels and they seemed to fit great as well but I (personally) prefer the 18 as it allows us to run a slightly taller tire which also improves ride quality. I will try and attach a picture of some trucks for you to see.
Both of the trucks in the pictures have 18in wheels and have the StreetGrip system.
