1962 Chevy C-10 Step Side

I recently purchased a 1962 Chevy stepside. The body and frame are solid. I plan to restore it over the next few years. The motor is an inline 6. My problem is the carb is trashed. It's a one barrel Rochester. I bought one from EBay but had too return it as the carb base won't fit on my intake manifold. The bolt hose are 90 degrees off so the lines and linkage doesn't line up. Any suggestions? The carb had a tag on it. Part number 7024009 but searching by that didn't help. Also how hard would it be dropping an SBC 350 in this truck. I have one that runs pretty good and may just do that although I'd be happy with the inline 6.
