Re: engine color !
I painted my 350 crate motor black. Or at least kept is black and painted the water pump to match. And installed a black Edelbrock air cleaner. The aluminum intake and carb are natural for contrast. It looks ok, but I have 2 black and silver small blocks in 2 different vehicles. I think I should've painted one orange.

Re: engine color !
My first vote would be orange, but I think a strong case could be made for red depending on the style of your build.

Re: engine color !
Chevy orange or cast iron gray with black accents.
A silver truck with a bright orange SBC looks pretty awesome. As for the gray/black, check out Bosshogg69's truck.

Re: engine color !
I remember when Chevrolet let the almost Ford Blue color dominate the smog motors of the 80's. I will not ever look back at that one again.
CHEVY ORANGE! Its been around for over 5 decades. |

Re: engine color !
Paint it black..... nothing worse than a little grease and grime on a orange engine.

Re: engine color !
Red to match the interior would be cool but you couldn't go wrong with black or a cast iron gray either. If you're like me, this kinda thing will keep you up at night. lol
