Bed year compatibility for bed swaps?
Hi All,
I have a 1959 shortbed Fleetside with a 100% perfect bed. The problem is that I am building this truck for my wife and she wants the stepside, so the search begins. I will keep the fleet and have them both painted so if I choose I can swap them out from time to time. Anyway, my question is... Can someone please tell me what years stepside will fit and look correct on my truck? I have found a few online locally but want to make sure that they are compatible before I make any offers. Also for anyone who is selling or has bought one, what should I expect to pay for a decent shape stepside? thanks |

Re: Bed year compatibility for bed swaps?
I think it is 55 1/2 to 66 steppers will fit. The bed sides are all the same and so are fenders. Except the 66 has back up lights in them. If I'm wrong I apologize

Re: Bed year compatibility for bed swaps?
There is probably one around but I can't find a definitive list of changes for TF trucks like there are for AD trucks.
It used to be that you could go to the Mar-K site and easily see what fit what but now they have "updated" it and that ease is gone. Put in a request for one of their free printed catalogs and the part numbers should tell you more about what you want to know if someone doesn't come up with the answer but I think Indian113 is pretty well correct.

Re: Bed year compatibility for bed swaps?
Front panel and tailgate are the same from 55.2 to the last year of stepside, roughly 86. Bed sides are similar but fender location changes and step shape and length changes.

Re: Bed year compatibility for bed swaps?
I believe Indian113 is right, if you look up replacement rear fenders the fitment chart says 55 2nd series through 66 stepsides, same thing for tailgate...
