Re: Relocate gas tank
I'm putting a 31 gallon blazer tank in mine. You gotta remove the spare tire bracket and scoot the rear crossmember back. Tank is like $78 from rock auto, $40 for a sending unit and a couple bucks for tank straps at Lowe's.

Re: Relocate gas tank
I'm running a 25 gallon tank for a 1989 blazer that I ordered from Amazon that fits .. same dimensions as the 31 gallon SuperHondaz is running just doesn't hang down as low. plus its baffled so its set up for fuel injection if you ever decide to go LS. Same mods to my cross members that he did to make it fit. I have had the 31 gallon and now the 25. I prefer the 25 because it doesn't hang down nearly as far.
This is the one i bought https://www.amazon.com/Spectra-Premi...=spectra+GM15C And Here's some pics so you can see how it fits the frame rails. same fitment for a 31 or 25 gallon

Re: Relocate gas tank
Where are you guys going to run your filler neck at? I'm thinking of using some aluminum tube and rubber hose to run it to the driver's side saddle tank fuel door, options are always nice.

Re: Relocate gas tank
Im personally just gonna run it with a newer body style door through the bedside just in front of the side marker. . some dont like it but its simple and works ha. I like your idea with your stock door but man thats a long fill ha. I had a side marker fill on my last set up and hated it. living in cali the boots at the pump are just too damn big

Re: Relocate gas tank
Not sure. My brother picked it up for me. But couldn’t remember what it came from. Did cut the whole pocket with the door, cable, and release Assy.

[QUOTE=Rufas;8108855]Here is the typical round door setup installed on my 70 GMC. That looks really nice. what is the "typical" door from? I am looking for a door to put in mine but am having a hard time because the junk yards no longer let you cut just what you need, they try to charge you for the whole bed panel!

Re: Relocate gas tank
[QUOTE=Rufas;8109084]'IF' I remember correctly that filler door came off of a late 80's early 90's Chevy pickup. But that was almost 20 years ago. I was able to get a section from a bed panel from a truck that had been T-Boned. The inner bed panel came from the same year range of a Mazda pickup. Yikes! A foreign truck part on my truck.
Wow great info. I assumed you made that inner cover. now im gonna have to hunt for a Mazda ha. Im not against any parts on my truck so long as it functions well. I'm far from a purist. ha I wouldn't have an LS if I wanted it original.

Re: Relocate gas tank
Devil pup, will that tank work on a coil spring truck? I measured my frame today and it’s not wide enough or long enough. The tank measurements are 29”x29”x 11, according to the specs on the tank from amazon. Thanks Kirk
