67 C20 Build
Hey guys, new member here. I bought a 67 C20 a few years back and ended up selling it to a good friend for 500 bucks hoping he'd do something with it. Time has come we'd like to build it.
We tried getting the 6 cylinder to run but I think that plan is scratched and we're going to pull the motor/transmission/rear end this spring to go modern. This is where we need some help... The idea is to make this truck drive able on the street and a pleasure to ride in. Was thinking fuel injected LS, gearbox, driveshaft and different rear end. We can cut, weld, turn wrenches and do just about 95% of the work ourselves. We were thinking of getting a donor car to take what we need then scrap the rest... Hoping to get some sound input from those that have done this sort of thing before. We aren't rich so money is definitely going to play a factor, which is why a donor car for under $1000 seemed to make a lot of sense. Also need some suspension/steering/brake advice. What ya'll think Last edited by 67c20guy; 12-18-2017 at 02:53 PM. |

Re: 67 C20 Build
Welcome to the Forum! This is the goto place for any info and mods you can dream up. Looks like a solid truck to start with. My friend Metaldoc on here has done some sweet fab and mods to his 67. Do a search for ideas. Start a build thread and keep the pictures coming. Welcome aboard!

If its questions, ask away here. If working on a thread start it in the "67-72 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Projects and Builds" sub forum below the message board.

Re: 67 C20 Build
There is a ton of build threads on here for reference. Everybody does something different.
Are you well knowledged in engine building? Making todays fuel run on older blocks is difficult, LS requires computer mods, and metal fab work with some of the aftermarket filling in. It depends on what you want to spend and your skills with how much tooling, time and other resources you have. Begin with the end in mind and go from there. |

Re: 67 C20 Build
Welcome from another 67 C20 owner. Good looking truck! I'm leaning towards the same idea as you, except I'm thinking of a truck drivetrain. Hoping I can find a 2000's ish 3/4 ton 2wd and swap the drivetrain. Goood luck with yours, and post lots of pics!!
