Aluminum Wheels
I bought my '68 with the aluminum wheels in the pic and was told they were Duramax wheels. No reason for me to doubt it but I don't know much about Duramax wheels. I need some lug nuts and not sure on size, the ones I have now are a bit sketchy as far as fit goes but they've held the wheels on.
Any info on what year these wheels are or would that matter? I'd prefer lug nuts a little less large/long and have a few websites to shop at but I don't want to order something that won't fit correctly. Also, I have a Dana rear with the stock drums, I 'think' the threads are 9/16"-18 but not positive. I have rotors from an '86 3/4 ton on the front now, what would be their size? The lug nuts I currently have will not thread onto the bolts. Thanks. |

Re: Aluminum Wheels
The make what is called a "conversion lug". Had to buy some to put a set of these on my son's 86 C20.
Look on eBay.

Re: Aluminum Wheels
I have those wheels. I bought lugs to fit my studs on the '68 and still hold the center cap. Then I up graded to later model '85 front disc brakes and bought a set to fit that. Then I up graded the rear end to a 2002 14 bolt. Had to buy metric. Ended up with three sets of lugs.

Re: Aluminum Wheels
86 rotors will have 9/16x18. Usually 68 model has 1/2x20 studs.

Re: Aluminum Wheels
Those are the exact stock wheels that are on my '06 Silverado K2500 HD. It's also not a Duramax truck.

Re: Aluminum Wheels
The Duramax is a diesel engine option. Wheels don't come with an engine option, they come with a trim package or an option themselves. Those are '99 till recent GM 2500/3500 wheels. They came on OBS trucks as well. My friend had a 2000 K2500 6.5TD that came with them.

Re: Aluminum Wheels
Any suggestions on a lug nut style to use with a center cap?
