54/55 ad truck interchange gmc-chevy

Hi,hope to find out if parts for gmc and chevy will interchange,i have a 55 chevy and a 55 gmc grill would like to go with gmc look of front end ,can i mix and match hood,fenders,ect.thanks for any help.Mike

The 54/55 trucks used the same fenders. as the GMC.

The difference comes in the hood and radiator support areas.

I know the GMC trucks had a taller radiator support support which was offset by a lower front crossmember on the frame.

You may be able to keep the Chevy radiator support and bolt the upper sheetmetal to it. Can't rightfully say.

You never know until you try.

I seem to remember something about the front crpss member being different, maybe has to do with the different rad support? anybody else know?
an assembly manual would maybe tell

Thanks for the replies,I have really nice hood and fenders off the chevy.If i use the gmc radiator support,I hope to use gmc grill and grill surrond.I am not working on the trucks yet just trying to get a little better understanding on what will work if someone else has swapped parts between gmc and chev! thanks Mike

The Chevy and GMC hoods are different
