55-59 stock steering column
Hey guys I’ve been looking for a stock steering column, cuz mine was cut off right at the base. I have a 56 Chevy truck. And the column I found is out of a 58-59 gmc. Will that column work in mine? Thank you

Re: 55-59 stock steering column
It will bolt up but the column is shorter as the 57-59 Chevy GMC trucks use a dish steering wheel while the 55 56 have a flat steering wheel and a longer column.

Re: 55-59 stock steering column
Hey guys I was told today I can remove the 4 bolts at the bottom of the stock box and pull my steering shaft out thru there and just replace the shaft. Is this true? Anyone have any info on the thank you

Re: 55-59 stock steering column
yes, the shaft only. you still need the housing that covers the shaft.
i'll go out on a limb and say that was cut too

Re: 55-59 stock steering column
Are you still looking for a Stock Column? Mine is out of a 59 Chevy. I have replaced mine and don't need the stock set up any more.
