250 build
So I am looking at building the 250 in my truck. I have been told that I can build a 194 head and put on it to up the compression ratio and I was looking at getting a comp cam. The question is what is the biggest hydraulic flat tappet cam I can run with a 194 head and not run into issues.

Re: 250 build
If you get no response here go to:
www.inliners.org and ask there. Inliners International is totally focused on Chevy L6 engines and builds. IIRC, the 194 head cannot accomodate larger than stock valve diameters.

Re: 250 build
you do know closed chamber 194 heads are very expensive right and by the time you do everything needed to make hp you,ll have a lot in the head........ its a whole lot cheaper to run 307 flat top pistons with 250 head. better check your block and head real good b4 you do anything as there known to be worn out / cracked............ its a 2-3 $ k engine when its done also............
