Ifabspeed trans crossmember
Anyone here running an ifs trans crossmember? With the new headers tucked up in the frame rails I will need a new trans crossmember to run some straight pipes. It says it built for 3” exhaust to clear and looks sweet. I’d like some feedback befor I spend the cash.https://www.googleadservices.com/pag...Qwg8IJQ&adurl=

Re: Ifabspeed trans crossmember
I have one on my dad’s c20 crew cab. I used 2.5” tubes but they are tucked nicely and mine canmepowder coated as well.
I’ll probably get one for my short bed as well

Re: Ifabspeed trans crossmember
Right on. Thanks for the reply. I’m pulling the trigger.
New headers are a wee bit shorter than the hooker supercomps. Sounds good open header, but I don’t want to make the neighbors too mad.

Re: Ifabspeed trans crossmember
What was the motivation for switching headers? Do you still have the stock e brake?

Re: Ifabspeed trans crossmember
Supercomps cracked at the collector/flanges were wacky, had to run doubled up gaskets on both heads. Hedmans were $200. Couldn’t resist. As for e-brake, if it came to needing it I would aim for a tree.

I’ll try and get some photos today. I store the truck at my fathers.

Re: Ifabspeed trans crossmember
lmao. I am keeping the manual so I'm going to need one. I can't park against a tree everywhere.

Re: Ifabspeed trans crossmember
Yeah, no e-brake. The headers exit right at the starter. I can fan some exhaust but it’ll have to bend right away to clear the current crossmember and go below the frame. I’ll get ifs crossmember and see how it works. I have all my exhaust pieces sitting in the garage. Flow master 40’s and 8’ of 3” tubing plus the socket ends to mate to the new style headers. I think the egts are going to play hell on my starter so I’ll be buying a thermo shield for that. Lots of little stuff I will need but I think it’s worth it. I’m going to take it out today open headed and blow some cobwebs off it. Haven’t started it since mother’s day. Wish I could post a video, it sounds pretty cool open header. Stupid loud in the cab though.
