Question Can I swap folding mechanism onto full foam seat?

I found a full foam seat out of a 71 or 72 C10 but the back cushion is fixed. Is there a way to swap the folding part of my '64 standard seat onto the full foam frame?

Re: Can I swap folding mechanism onto full foam seat?

The only time I've seen a Chevy pickup seat of that vintage with a "fixed back" was only due to the upholstery being one piece all the way down the vertical sides tying it in to the horizontal sides. My cushions were still two separate components. Since it was mine, I just "unfixed it with a pair of scissors. Could that be the case with yours too?

Re: Can I swap folding mechanism onto full foam seat?

The seat came out of a late 60's or early 70's Chevy or GMC. I believe it has it's original upholstery and definitely has a fixed back.

I could not find this seat pattern in any of the literature or restoration parts books. Anyone seen this pattern before?
