Knocked off spoiler on top of burb nuts that hold it on?

Ok hit garage door with the spoiler on back of my 91 burb, it's held on with well nuts but the ones I got at lowes are to thick on top and can't get them to tighten in good. Are correct ones available? Or other options.thanks

Can you cut the threads a little to shorten the bolt so it can screw down all the way? Be sure they are stainless steel.

I didn't specify sorry, they make the spoiler sit off the body too much, the others were about thin as a washer. Also they just aren't pulling up good they start spinning messing up the rubber.
