Pedal height?

Question for you manual trans guys. I got my pedal box, pedals, hydro-boost & clutch reservoir mocked up on a bench stand. First thing I noticed is that the clutch pedal is about 2 inches higher (towards driver) than the brake pedal. Everything is factory original from the same truck. Not ever having a manual transmission before, I don't know if the difference in height is normal. The pushrods aren't adjustable so I'm assuming it's correct.

It does sound normal to me. You don't want the brake pedal too high.

My 78 K15 with SM465 was like you describe. Clutch pedal was a couple inches higher than the brake pedal. Had to cock your knee to press it to avoid the steering wheel. Odd thing is that I just swapped out to NV4500 with AA bellhousing and clutch fork. Once hooked up my clutch pedal is down about even with the brake pedal. Still the same linkage so I'm thinking the style of clutch fork or length of the pushrod between the fork and z-bar has something to do with pedal height.

Thanks for the reply rgunlock. I had to look at a friend's Nissan (5 spd) and the clutch pedal is higher than the brake. I guess that's normal. Mines a 4500 with the AA bellhousing as well. Except, mines a hydraulic setup, so the master cylinder on the firewall fixes the pushrod lenght.

I have a 6-speed in my C10 and the clutch pedal is even with the brake pedal. Ill try and a take a few pics tonight. I also have an adjustable clevis rod on mine.
