59 Repro Hood

Does anyone make a reproduction hood? I was in a fender bender a couple weeks ago in my DD and crumpled the hood. I am checkin with a couple of local shops on estimates to fix it. Ideally i'd like to find some original metal, but just in case, Im curious if anyone is making a reproduction?

They just built a 55/56 for SEMA that should be getting some press in the next couple of weeks

You may end up having to find a good used hood.

Out of the car nuts dictionary.

Reproduction sheet metal:

"Similar to original, can be used if nothing else is available."

Re: 59 Repro Hood

I know guys that have used reproduction sheet metal and all of them needed work.
I would stick to looking for a good used hood.

Re: 59 Repro Hood

58/59 use the same hood, only difference may be the punched holes for the hood emblem.

Thank you all for the input. A repro metal would be my last resort. I started looking mainly because of the insurance estimate. Im trying to get out to a rescue yard this week and see if there is anything usable.

Hogfarm, thank you, I may take you up on that if i cant find anything a little closer to home.
