New repro grill parts vs NOS grills?

Out of curiosity, does anyone know whether there's any good reason to buy a New Old Stock grill instead of the new reproductions.

The price difference is pretty wide. For example, I'm looking to replace the egg crate on a '71. I see reproductions for under $100, and New Old Stock for $600+

Even more surprising is the outer grill - $300 or so for repro. Over $1000 for NOS.

Are there quality or fitment issues with the repros? Or is NOS just higher priced because of nostalgia of having parts made 'back in the day' of these vehicles. I imagine the NOS parts might have issues of their own - plastic deteriorates over time. Maybe they're brittle?
