65 C10 LS swap engine placement
I have a 5.3 from an ‘08 Tahoe for my 65 C10. I’m keeping it stock with stock accessories, just deleting a/c. I have the adjustable engine plates. Do I need to tuck the motor as tight to the firewall as possible to optimize room up front or is there lots of room to play with?

I put mine in the SBC mount position. I can stick my hand behind the valve covers.

I put my 6 litre as far forward as i could in my 65 . My coil brackets maybe have 1/2'' of clearance to firewall.
