Swampmeet score!
So I feel like I got pretty lucky on this one! $40 basically for the script and a glove box that came with it lol 1958 Del Ray Glove box door script is the same as the 1960 Apache glove box as I’ve learned though research
Anyways, does anyone happen to have any of the measurements they could supply me with anyone ones original 1960 glove box & script mounting holes? Pictures front and back would be greatly appreciated, I am going to attempt to drill the mounting holes and pop the script on. Thank you! |

Re: Swampmeet score!
The emblem actually supposed to snap into clips that fit into holes. I ordered the clips online but i think they may be a tad long.

This is what I bought for the clips. I have a few extra if you want to pay shipping you can have 4 of them.

Re: Swampmeet score!
Awesome man thank you for the info!
That’s a nice color on the glove box, it’s always feels good to find these parts when they pop up! Post a picture of your glove box when you got your emblem installed, love to see how it came out! Btw, what number is that? is that a upside down 5 or a 9 for the measurement? Lol |

Re: Swampmeet score!
So I checked the tabs on the back of the emblem and the were at the same level so I assumed thst the mounting holes were both 61/64th up from the bottom line of the glove box bevel.
And also discovered that you don’t need any fasteners. Right where the emblem goes, the mounting tabs in the back have enough clearance to fit all the way inside, I used a 1/8” bit which was too small cuz I didn’t have a 5/32” bit, but it was snug enough to get the script in all the way without it coming out loose. I just pushed it in carefully, and done! What do you guys think?! Thank you @62chevy302 !! |

Re: Swampmeet score!
Bringing this back up to say thanks to 62chevy302 for the measurements.
A local yard to me has 2 60 trucks that both happened to still have the script. The first one had been sitting with the glove box door closed all this time and had already broke in one place. I did try to remove it, but unfortunately it broke into 3 pieces before I could even get it off. The other truck had been sitting with the glove box door open all this time. I carefully pried the emblem off with a tiny flathead screwdriver and grabbed the barrel clips along with it. It's in great shape so I'll be putting it on my truck today.

Re: Swampmeet score!
Got it installed! The barrel clip thingies used to mount the script were in really nice shape, so that made installation super easy
