Sources for LS engines in the Lower Mainland?
Hey guys, recently acquired an 87 C10 short box sans engine and transmission and really want to solve this problem by installing some form of modern drive train. Now that I have the truck in the garage, I've started to scour Craigslist for potential engines but unfortunately am not seeing anything too intriguing yet. Took a cruise Saturday morning to a local dismantler with $1500 in my pocket and plans on bringing home either a low mileage 5.3 or a decent 6.0 but all i saw were 250km+ engines, which were either missing parts or had hacked up harnesses or both! Mercy! So does anybody in the Lower Mainland BC area know a good place to buy a decent ls engine? I don't need the transmission, just want to find an engine that's reasonably clean, unmolested and complete as possible, would appreciate any leads and I'll make sure to give you the reference haha, thanks guys! Pic of the new truck:

Re: Sources for LS engines in the Lower Mainland?
Appreciate the kind words Greg, was definitely happy to be able to add another C10 to the fleet, and was even happier when i realized it needed an engine and transmission haha. So just ended up keeping a close eye on Craigslist and wound up bringing this 6.0 home. Apparently has 160000km, apparently came out of an 03 escalade, apparently was the HO variant, so they say anyways haha,we'll see! So here's the engine as i got it, missing a few bits, but I think i can work with it. I've just been stripping and cleaning the bulk so far, but did stick my cheapie borescope in the spark plug hole to assess the cylinders and see if it had the lq9 pistons, sure looks like a flattop to me but is that representative of 160km of wear? What do you guys think?

sure looks flat to me...but the intake is hugely different than my LQ9 from a 2002 escalade...

Looks like a Dorman intake.
