Cab Swap
I have a 72 C30 dump truck. I want to know if a 68 C10 cab would fit it.

Re: Cab Swap
Yes, basically the same cab minus the parking brake and the firewall on the passenger side is different.

Re: Cab Swap
Mr. Bruce, projectking is correct, however, there may be a few more differences.
I put a 67 cab on my 1970 frame, etc. Yes, the parking brake on the 67-68 is a lever which runs parallel to the bottom of the dash, and the hole in the firewall is in a different location. The 69 and later parking brake pedal assembly required the drivers side firewall to be redesigned to strengthen the area where the foot assembly mounted to the firewall. I used my 70 model foot assembly in my 67 cab. I had to reinforce the area where the assembly mounts to the firewall by welding a plate on the inside of the cab. The foot pedal assembly also had to be shortened by cutting about 3/8" off of the end which attaches to the bottom of the dash. Basically there is a slot for the bolt to line up to instead of a hole. Then, I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the dash to bolt it on. I also wanted the firewall smooth in the area where the pedal assembly bolts to the firewall, so I welded studs on the inside of the cab. I removed the studs from the pedal assembly, and it fit great. It is tight trying to get the nuts tightened , but I like the way it turned out. I welded up the original rectangular hole(down low) for the cable in the 67 firewall and cut a new rectangular one in the 70 location to allow the parking brake cable to work properly. I cannot address his comment about the passenger side firewall as I smoothed that entire area. I got both cabs side by side and mapped out which 67 holes needed to be filled/created to mimic my 70 cab, then which ones I wanted filled. Everything else worked out. One note, I did not have any work done to my doors to make them perfectly fit the 67 cab. They are close, but not perfect. Expect your doors to be the same, close but not perfect unless you do more work. Here are a few pics from a previous post...look at #7 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=751824 |

Re: Cab Swap
As stated, it will fit. Your 72 gas pedal will require a little fab to install

Re: Cab Swap
You are correct 72 Trigger, I forgot.
I used a 71-72 accelerator pedal assembly and cable instead of the pedal and throttle linkage. To accomplish this easily I used an adapter plate to bolt to the cab, and the pedal assembly bolted to the adapter plate. A Forum Member sells the adapter plates here..... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=746099 |

Re: Cab Swap
The front clip will go on fine. The mounting is the same.
