SWB Replacement Bedside availability?

So a week ago I was using a loader to move my short box from the shop to the storage shed, and a strap snapped which dropped the box 4 feet to the ground crumpling up a beside pretty bad. Its a major disappointment.

Since that time, I have been searching high and low for another panel, however it seems there are no short bedsides left anywhere. I live in North Iowa, and short boxes that are not rusted out are impossible to find (searched FB marketplace and craigslist for hours).

I think my only option is to try to find a box from TX at this point, however I'm not able to find a way to source it.

The above leads to my question - has anyone heard when short bedsides will be produced again? I know a year ago they quit making them (heard the stamp wore out?).

I'd consider fixing what you have, find a body shop that still knows how to move metal and get a price. original steel is always better then aftermarket.

Do ya have a pic of the damage?

Re: SWB Replacement Bedside availability?

JDL - classic parts does not have any short bedsides - all the venders are sold out. They still list the product but have none available.

I'll try to get a pic of the damage posted. These are already aftermarket sides I bought over a year ago when you could still get them. They were not the best fit but after some work they look good.

Re: SWB Replacement Bedside availability?

My truck has a repo passenger bedside. Do yourself a major favor and get a factory bedside from another truck.

Re: SWB Replacement Bedside availability?

Just as an update. I called one of the major suppliers today, guy I spoke with acted like they will be making some new short bedsides in the near future. Thought maybe late summer or fall another run will come out.

Re: SWB Replacement Bedside availability?

Why be so vague when people are looking for help?

I've talked to LMC several times and they are currently looking for a quality supplier for short fleet bedsides. They said to keep checking back as they WILL have them again soon.

THAT is how you help.
