New Seat Foam Too Thick?

Has anyone installed the 67-69 custom foam in their truck and noticed if they seem to be sitting too high? Even with my skinny legs they have to somewhat squeeze between the seat and steering wheel when getting in or out of the truck. Now, it has been several years since I last sat in the truck and the old foam was worn quite a bit but I'm almost looking straight at the top of the windshield right now.

I should have compared the height of the new foam to the old one before I installed it. I'm thinking of removing about a 1" layer in the middle so I don't disturb the top molded portion or remove the reinforced layer at the bottom that goes against the springs.

The foam is correct for the seat frame, if you have a full foam seat frame and not the other one. Gotta pic of your bottom seat frame?
After fifty years the old foam deteriorates a bit too I imagine.

Yes, it's the correct frame and springs for the custom foam. Here are a couple of pics.

I would think if it were too tall I would have had a hard time gathering enough material to clip on the frame when I was recovering it. The cover went on easily with about 1" of extra material to work with.

I'm sure no one would remember how high they sat in their seat 50 years ago but I would like to see if it's my imagination or what if the new stuff runs a little tall.

And how much larger are you than in 1966?
Seems people are larger now, just a thought.

HAHA! Quite a bit larger! I was only six in 66! But, seriously, when I drove it as an adult before I tore it apart I don't remember it being like this. (I'm still skinny too. Well, except for a little bit of a belly...)
