Just when you think your out (64 Fleetside)
I just picked this 1964 Fleetside custom
No running gear was an Auto Non PS/PB . I'm going to merge this very rusty (Michigan) 02 silverado . . . . . . . . .

Re: Just when you think your out (64 Fleetside)
Are you saying you're going to put it on the silverado frame?

Re: Just when you think your out (64 Fleetside)
I think I would try to keep the original frame. The frames on the '99-'07 trucks are very bad about rusting through.
If you are set on using the '02 frame, make sure it doesn't have serious rust issues in the boxed areas. |

Re: Just when you think your out (64 Fleetside)
The '88 and up frames are drastically different from the '63-'87 frames. You are in for a LOT of fabricating and work.

Re: Just when you think your out (64 Fleetside)
Very rusty?!?! Man if you were from Michigan that would be considered a pretty darn clean truck! No rust on the box, rockers still on, that thing must have migrated your way a long time ago.

Re: Just when you think your out (64 Fleetside)
Thank you for that ....
The dash cluster should have been a give a way. you are correct it is indeed a 1966 not a 1964. and thanks for the heads up on the wider frame on the 02 . .....W

Re: Just when you think your out (64 Fleetside)
Personally, I think the 66 is best of the generation.
If you decide to skip the frame swap idea, are wanting to stay with the 3/4 ton, or were you thinking of converting it to a 1/2 ton?
