GMC turn signal removal

Hello all,
I don't know what I'm missing here. Im trying to remove the lights from my GMC hood in order to paint it. I can't find any fasteners. In the back there are two square nuts with nothing in them. The front has the factory riveted lens.
I'm about to cut the lens out with a grinder or something.
Can somebody enlighten me?

Re: GMC turn signal removal

Look behind the steel housing and you will see 4 tabs, 2 above and 2 below, which lock it in place. With a suitable screwdriver, release the 2 upper tabs and push out the housing slightly. Then do the same with the lower tabs and push the housing out the front.
