why not rebuild the originals? There are answers to all of your questions if you do a little research.

Re: 66 c10 Vent Window - Repro or Rebuild Orginals
Got my repops from Brother's. They are some sweet stainless steel beauties. Mine have the green "Soft-Ray" style glass. I dont know if they are available in chrome but I specifically told Brother's to make sure they were the stainless ones and they came through for me as requested. Edit: By the way, I never even thought the originals fit well. I have never liked the way the perimiter weatherstrip goes inside the door edge leaving a space for water to pass thru. Granted its supposed to drain out the bottom of the door, but that combined with the old school fuzzy beltline seals are probably part of why these trucks aways wind up with rotten door corners. These new ones are no different in fit and function than the originals ever were. I actually improved the seal on mine with a delicate bead of black sealant.

I have noticed that many vendors will mistakenly advertise a stainless steel item as being chrome. That's why I had to call them and specificy that I wanted them to be stainless. Their ad writers may not know the difference but the salesman did.

Re: 66 c10 Vent Window - Repro or Rebuild Orginals
I stopped by Dennis’ Truck Parts over in Clearwater Fl and looked at what he had to possibly rebuild a set; i noticed that all the framing is painted black; nothing is chrome or stainless; is it only the restoration stores selling it that way? Appears the originals are suppose to be painted black; i also asked about the weather stripping covering the door gap people were complaining about and he indicated that is factory installed.
