LS1 LQ4 tie in to a 1963 GMC

The stock LS1 wiring harness plugs in easily to the LS1 engine and computer

What I am looking for is the wiring diagram to tie in a 1963 pickup to this LS1 engine and computer. How do I wire in the 1963 GMC ignition switch to the LS1 starter, computer, and alternator ? Anyone have a wiring diagram ? What did you do with the extra original wires going to the original starter ?

Do I worry about the computer knowing the oil pressure ? Or do I tie I the oil pressure into my gauges manually ?

Do I worry about the computer knowing the engine temperature ? Or do I tie the temperature into my gauges manually ?

Re: LS1 LQ4 tie in to a 1963 GMC

I replied to most in your other post..
to finish up
the ecm doesn't need to see oil pressure...remove the LS sender and youll need a metric to standard bushing..itll screw in the back of the block in about the same spot as a sbc, then use your reg sending unit in it
the ecm does need to see water temps..it uses the front drivers side head location for this...most of us drill and tap the pass side head, at the back, from metric to npt and install the water temp sender for the gauges there...

curious you have LS1 and LQ4 listed together...those are different engines...LS1 is a 5.7..LQ4 is a 6.0

Re: LS1 LQ4 tie in to a 1963 GMC

I thought my engine was out of a 2005 Chevy. Last weekend when I was getting the ECM cleared I took the attached photo. I think I have a 05 Chevy engine and a 04 GMC ECM. I had the attached photo on my phone, I will look into this when I get home from work later tonight
