55.2-59 1955 Chevy 2nd series wiper linkage/ motor questions

My truck has the original vacuum style wiper motor and original worn out wiper linkage. Has anyone changed out their wiper motor/ linkage to electric from another vehicle and it worked out? I know you can change out the wiper motor to electric but I thought the salvage yard may have something that would fit, would be cheaper and with new linkage quieter. Your thoughts or experience?

I replaced my vacuum motor with the rear window wiper motor from a Dodge Caravan many years ago. They used to be very common in salvage yards, but you can probably still buy the motor from a parts store.
