About 4.25 inches. Much easier for my wife to get in and out of the Blazer with the aux steps.

This style attaches to the flat undersurface of the torsion box. My recollection is that subs do not have torsion boxes so I don’t believe these will work. GM made a style for pickups - those should work but these partially require use of holes in the floor pan.

thank you! that's what I was afraid of.. I'll probably go the route Ptjsk did and customize for my application..

I really like the expanded metal tread plate steps on our F450/F550 utility trucks at work..

a little modernish looking but simple and beefy enough to pass for vintage..

keep up the good work Mike, those are great vintage steps for some lucky Blazer/Jimmy owners!

Another option for you would be to use these steps from Mike and then modify the underside arms. Extend the arms that mount to the torsion/rocker boxes so the arms mount to the frames. Because the most important part of these vintage look steps are the horizontal steps/platforms.

I am modifying the steps to fit my Jimmy.
Why?
Because I installed a rear sway bar on my Jimmy.
That meant that the dual exhaust that I had installed is routed where the torsion/rocker boxes I have are to be reinstalled. So I am modifying the torsion boxes to go under the rerouted exhaust.
This meant I have to modify the steps I purchased from Mike.
Before I purchased the steps from Mike I reviewed with Dale, a friend of mine who is a fabricator welder guru, to make sure this would work.

Doing this work because I wanted the sway bar for safety, dual exhaust and the vintage look stainless steel steps from Mike.

But for you this does involve getting arm extension stainless steel tubing. Plus you or someone who welds stainless

Finishing my last post. Had a PC problem and had to reboot.

Not everyone understand the purpose, function of the rocker boxes.
The are what Pete correctly called them. They are really torsion boxes.

They are for adding torsional rigidity to the outsideareas of the Blazers/Jimmys vehicles when the top is removed and the Blazers/Jimmys are used as convertibles. Ouside of the central main frame. Frame still does this in the center of these vehicles.

Some people believe that you do not need them if you have a rollover bar assembly. This is not correct.

Because the torsion boxes connect between the A pillar and the B pillar wall area, and then further back under the bed in these vehicles.

The roll bar assemblies do not connect to the A pillar area. In fact they do not even connect to the B pillar area. They are in the wrong locations in these vehicles to replace the torsional rigidity function of the rocker boxes.
