Are the 99 lm7’s the same as 2001 thru 2006 or so?

Re: 1999 lm7
No, they made a few small changes internally. HP increased at some point but the biggest difference is that drive by wire was phased in around 2003/2004.

Would this be a good option for an LS swap?

Re: 1999 lm7
It depends on a few things.
Condition-Is it a complete, running engine? How many miles? Rusty/leaky/dirty? It's getting hard to find Gen 3 engines with low miles in good shape (less than 100k). Price-GM made millions of these engines so they're not hard to find and are cheap. 2nd only to the 4.8, these have to be the cheapest LS engines you can buy. How much is the seller asking? Intended use-what are you putting it in? The LM7 doesn't make an overwhelming amount of power, but still a huge improvement over an old tired small block. If it's a worn out engine and you want to build an engine, it's a good starter with the iron block.

71 c10.
$400 with about 150k miles. Probably leaky. It’s replacing a 2002 lm7 Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 1999 lm7
That's not bad. I would look at it in person and drive the vehicle if possible. Is it being pulled out of a wrecked vehicle or what?
