Back Up Lights 4l60e
Hey guys,
After hooking up the range sensor on my 4l60e for an NSS I am ready to hook up the back up lights on Pin F. Since this is powered through the the relay do I just run a new wire to the back up lights or connect to the wire in my harness under the dash? |

Re: Back Up Lights 4l60e
When I did my swaps I just used the factory neutral safety/reverse switch, switch on the column. Just curious why you are not?

Re: Back Up Lights 4l60e
You can hook both wires to the plug under the dash that originally went to the factory back up lights on the NSS if the truck was an automatic.

Re: Back Up Lights 4l60e
I was referring to a factory wiring harness that would have a 2 wire plug that would have plugged into the original NSS. One of the wires goes to the actual back up lights and the other one is the power for them that would come from the back up light fuse in the fuse box. I would assume on your aftermarket wiring harness the wire that says 'back up lights' is going to be the wire from the fuse box that would be the power for the lights, you will need to verify this. If that's the case, then that would get hooked to the pink wire C and the light green wire F would go to the lights. The back up lights are NOT powered up by the starter relay, that's totally separate.

Re: Back Up Lights 4l60e
just finished my wiring on this yesterday. C and F are your two pins for the back up lights. C is the direct power to the fuse box. It should go to a ignition power . F goes to the back up lights direct. There are two wires in this hookup . I used Painless not American but American should have a ignition power wire marked if not any ignition power will do. I assume from your post that you have already hooked up c so yes you are correct there is only one wire to hook up. When done you will need to get someone to help you adjust the position of the back up switch so it turns on the back up light so when you are in reverse. Good Luck

Re: Back Up Lights 4l60e
Excellent guys. So I already have ignition power to Pin C because I'm using the range sensor as my NSS. Just need to hook Pin F to the feed for the BU lights then.
