Scored this for my 63 K20
Picked this up today, a friend of mine had it in a tote removed from a foreclosed storage trailer he bought. I know its not a "cool-pak" as what would have been dealer OE installed in our trucks, but it is GM and period correct, and along with the 427/433ci w block ill be finishing over fall/winter, itll hopefully look like it was put there by the general back in the day... anyone have any info on what these originally were installed in???

Wow, it's even a Harrison. Not too many people would assume it to be anything but a period correct part. Nice score. Hope it blows nice and cold for you when you get it done.

I knew a guy who had a unit almost exactly like what you have. I can't tell from your pics but his faceplate has a quilted like texture on it. In the middle under the vents, where it looks like you have a black square or possibly a hole his has a Chevrolet Bowtie emblem. It is a raised silver bowtie painted dark blue with raised silver CHEVROLET letters in the middle. His came in the trunk of a 1967 Chevelle SS he bought. He was told by the previous owner that the dealer installed it when the car was sold new and that it is called a Cool Pack unit. Good score for sure.

yeah, if you look close enough you can see the outline of the bowtie around that rectangular hole... I teach engineering at our high school, and have a fairly high end 3D printer I was going to experiment with to recreate the bowtie if i cant find a similar additional unit I can use for parts... well see... I was watching a youtube video on charging AC systems and they had mentioned a company that will refurbish your old ac unit and provide new components so they can be reinstalled, im going to see if i can find that info again, and contact them....Still in process of collecting parts for the build so I have time at this point too....
