Installed grille by myself like this...ingenious or redneck?

OK, so I was trying to rack my brain for a few days to be able to install the grille by myself without dropping it since the grille support was already installed. In my sleep last night I came up with this idea...I could zip tie the grille to the support to hold it roughly in place while I put the bolts in.

So is this ingenious or redneck or something else??

Here are a few pictures...With zip ties and after the install. You can see that the zip ties held it pretty straight and was an easy install.

This would be redneck if you stopped after the zip ties

Dang, I wish I thought of that last time I had my grille off. Probably going to use this idea next time

Ha Ha!

I frequently work alone, and have concluded that almost anything can be done single handedly. The job may require some thought (and/or zip ties), but that's half the fun.

Perfect. Adapting and overcoming is half the fun as mentioned above. I swap out entire engines by myself all the time. Having the right tools helps tremendously though.

Great idea. Being a lone builder I'm also interested in any ideas to help make a job easy for one.

HAHA so true!

I might need a couple more on the bottom to hold it better, but maybe not.

Exactly...I got a lot of pleasure out of doing it by myself and I didn't want to wait on my wife to get home to hold it...this was super easy...way easier than I thought it would be and I didn't have to say "hold it higher, no that's too much..down a little and to the left." haha

Thanks... That's why I posted it actually...if it helps someone then I'm all for it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Hopefully I remember it for the next build.

Heck I wasn't sure how to do that alone. That's a great idea and I will probably need to use that myself. Thanks.
