Under dash lights
Having problems finding the correct bulbs for under the dash of the 72 jimmy. (courtesy lights) Does anyone know the correct part number? An 1156 fits but i don't think that is correct. I also heard there is an LED upgrade. Anyone use it or know the number for it?
Thanks. (adding a random pic of the wifes old tahoe just cuz you all like pics)

Re: Under dash lights
I used these LED replacements: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...t-car/169/766/
63 might be the number of the incandescent bulb?

Re: Under dash lights
I used 1156 and found out real quick that the bulb is to close to housing and gets hot real quick. No need for 27 watt bulbs under dash. These are what I use and work great bright enough and dont melt the housing lol. They also make a 4 watt bulb

Re: Under dash lights
I did the LED update in 2 of my trucks when I got the under dash lights functional again. ~$12 for the bulbs shipped to my home and I was able to do 2 trucks and have spare bulbs as needed.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LY7MLQV...ing=UTF8&psc=1 Works good - no issues so far and have been in the trucks for almost a year. |

Re: Under dash lights
Thanks for all of the input. All the parts stores could find were ash tray bulbs which are quite a bit smaller. Possibly for the lighted cigar lighter?
I picked up a pair of the 89 like tmend got and will give those a whirl. May have to be inside working on the jimmy anyhow as it is -33 here now!

Re: Under dash lights
I have used this outfit for my DD and my toy hauler (upgraded entire rig with LED) with good results. He is very helpful and I have had no issues with any purchases.
